evolution

I am a girl. A new girl.
They say that the men hunt and the woman nurture their children. But I am all alone, there is no man to hunt and there are no children to nurture, so I find my own home, and my own food.
There is nothing but animals and nature. The grass has grown above my head because there is no one to mend to it. There are fruits and vegetables everywhere, enough for the whole world to live off of. And then there are the animals... coyotes, horses, cows, pigs, dogs, monkeys, the list goes on.
There are dinosaurs, as tall as the empire state building, not as scary as they seem.
I have lost everything, technology, friends, family, pets, a nice home, meat that I didn't have to kill and skin all on my own, and water. Water is what I miss most, clean fresh water. We drink from streams now and the water tastes like dirt. I try to talk to the other cavemen about the past, but they don't seem to remember. So I am alone. Stuck in my own thoughts, forever.
Our world has been torn apart. Evolution has begun, again.

apollo and artemis.

apollo - the god of light (sun), music, poetry, medicine, prophecy, and archery.
artemis - the goddess of the moon, the hunt, wild animals, transitions in the lives of women.
these two gods are the children of zeus and leto, they are twins.
they're pretective, fast, amazing with a bow and arrow, and ruthless.

artemis was sworn to never fall in love and always stay a virgin. she did fall in love once, but her brother tricked her and she killed him. so she put him up in the sky as a constilation so she can always see him.

a few days after apollo was born he went to the slopes of Mount Parnassus to kill the python that harassed his mother when she was pregnant with him. the pyton was guarding the Delphic Oracle which at that point belonged to Gaia. he killed the python and took over the oracle.

Donald Baechler

My teacher Juanita and I went to the Chelsea galleries for a day when we were in New York. That's where I saw Vik Muniz and many other interesting artists. One of my favorites, and Juanita's favorite!, was Donald Baechler. He paints on collages. He sometimes uses house paint which I had never seen before this exhibit. He will paint a simple shape over very intricate designs. Its really interesting and you should most definitely go see it.

new orleans after the flood.

Robert Polidori has photographs of one of the most tragic incodents in america.
he took pictures of huricane katrina over a few months, right after, a moth after, a couple months after...
it amazing, he turned something so tragic into something so beautiful.

vik muniz

The imagination of every artist that can blow you away.
for example: Vik Muniz. He took a bunch of garbage like crushed up soda cans, the front of a car, screws, a broken refrigerator... And turned it into a sort of optical illustion, a beautiful optical illustion.
he took all this garbage (which was its actual size) and arranged it so you can see a picture of a Greek god.
this one is mars, the god of war.

jackson hole, wyoming.

when your in a place where every tree is a different shade of yellow, orange, red, bright green... it hard to pay attention to anything else.
for example:
when your driving a golf-cart and your looking at the trees and all of a sudden you just happen to run into one.
i lived in wyoming until i was around 5. but i never remember the leaves like this. however, i do remember taking old-time photos. dressing up like floozies, indians, or cowboys. posing with Jack Daniel's bottles, guns and sometimes "naked" in a bathtub.

ALWAYS.

Facing you
i am not jealous.

Come with a man at your back,
come with a hundred men in your hair,
come with a thousand men between your bosom and your feet,
come like a river
filled with drowned men
that meets the furious sea,
the eternal foam, the weather.

Bring them all,
where i wait for you:
we shall always be alone,
we shall always be, you and i,
alone upon the earth
to begin life.
